Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.
Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.
One thing is for certain, being married to rock and roll’s favourite son is sure to be a wild ride.
Natalie’s review –
OK. So, I get bored easily and I need a constant page turner of a book. I need to be drawn in, I need to smile lots and giggle at times.
This book does exactly that.
Evelyn Thomas wakes up on the bathroom floor of her Vegas hotel where her and her best friend had maybe partied a little too hard the night before. She wakes up with a huge hangover and an even bigger rock on her finger. Now she just needs to understand how this happened. It wasn’t quite the birthday celebration she was after!
She remembers nothing.
“What did we do last night?”
“We got fucking married,” he growled.
This time, I didn’t make it to the toilet
David Ferris is a rock n roll god with hot looks and luscious body. But does Evelyn actually know who her new husband is?
She frowned and pushed the sunglasses back down over my face. “Keep them on.”
I gave her a rough laugh as the world outside turned back into a smudge. “You really think it’ll help, now?”
“No,” she said, flicking back her long hair “But people in these situation always wear sunglasses. Trust me.”
Within the first few chapters I realised maybe I’ve just found the next big thing! It’s funny; it’s heart warming; it’s emotional and more importantly it keeps you gripped and wanting more.
“That’s about the only word I’ve been able to get out of her. Seriously, man, does your wife even speak?”
So, she just wants her normal, old, boring life back, but first she needs a divorce!!!
No wonder so many marriages ended in divorce. Marriage sucked and husbands were the worst.
“She is nothing you sorry fuck. Look at her. Just look at her. Tell me this marriage didn’t come courtesy of vodka and cocaine.”
So, he’s a hot rock n roll band member, where the world don’t seem very impressed with his latest announcement, but neither is the bride and groom!
“Poor Davey. Did being a rock god get old ?”
“Where is she?”
So, do the ‘not so happy’ couple actually want this drunken mistake to work? I found myself cheering them on to be together….!
I totally fell in love with Mal (fellow band member & David’s best friend.)
“Seriously, I fucking love your wife, man. She’s awesome .can I have her?”
“Because she’s really busy hiding around the corner, listening. I can’t disturb her now.”
Found myself smiling a lot at their standoff behaviour towards each other.
“I was going to kill him. Slowly. Strangle him with the overpriced thong. A fitting death for a rock star.”
So do Evelyn Thomas and David Ferris find their happy ever after…?
Natalie’s rating –
I’ll happily give this book 4 stars and I’d highly recommend it!
