Title: High Strung (Power Station #1)
Author: T Gephart
Release Date: October 10, 2014
Synopsis:
Ashlyn Murphy was not living the dream. Twenty-seven years old, college educated, up to her eyeballs in debt and yet she’d been relegated to pouring beers at a local bar. She desperately needed an out and was willing to do anything to get back into the corporate world. Well, almost anything. Dan Evans, Rock Star was NOT one of those things. In fact she despised him. Apparently he didn’t get the memo.
Dan Evans, bass player of international rock band Power Station had it all. He was rich, travelled the world, played to millions of adoring fans and had no shortage of beautiful women willing to share his bed. He didn’t need a moody redheaded knockout with a superiority complex complicating his life. Or did he?
When two people who couldn’t be more opposite cross paths, it’s bound to be explosive; sometimes all you can do is sit back and enjoy the show.

Krystle’s Review:
I haven’t read any of T.Gephart books before and after this book, I will never NOT read any of her work. This book was a breath of fresh air.
How often do you love the women and adore the man when you read a book.
Dan was just so funny and the comments he came out with, had me pissing myself and reminding me of my own relationship. How often does your partner come back with a remark about sex, if they are anything like mine, its 95% of the time. The fact Dan was the same was pure brilliance and made me love the book even more than I already did.
Ashlyn was like most people, she had the brains, the degree but not the salary to go with it, due to no jobs available on Wall Street. She was not even making ends meet, she needed to do something quick and if that meant getting a job interview in an industry that she had no clue, so be it!!!
What happens when she bumps into a very good looking, cocky Rock star at the interview, She becomes pissed and he becomes even cockier. Their first interaction was anything but sexy, it was awkward and left Dan Hard but Ashlyn was embarrassed and hated Dan. But as you all know by now fate has a way of getting in the way but this time Ashlyn is drunk and Dan is horny. Ashlyn thinks she has the upper hand until she wakes up to a wet, nearly naked but a little towel Dan standing in her bedroom.
Will Ashlyn fight against her feelings so that she can stick with her life plan or will Dan give her no chance but not to love him?
His a famous Rock star, she is supposed to be working on Wall Street.
She doesn’t do boyfriends or one night stands
He doesn’t do girlfriends but defiantly does one night stands
I had spent my life up until this point planning for perfection, avoiding the extraordinary, and playing it safe. I thought it would make me happy and give me a good life. what I couldn’t have planned for, was meeting a man who was so exceptional it would redefine my expectations.
life isn’t about the perfect plan. its about the perfect storm that engulfs you when you’re busy living it.
Can they really be compatible? Can falling in love with you opposite really work?
This book just has it!!!
It has the love, the humour, the angst but most of all it has two real people that just want to be loved by one another.
This is one must read of 2014
Jo’s review:
Life isn’t about the perfect plan. It’s about the perfect storm that engulfs you when you’re busy living it.
Having met Tina and experienced what her personality is like, I couldn’t expect her writing style to be any different. Nor her characters. Dan and Ashlyn tick every box for a fantastic read. Tina is that perfect storm.
Ashlyn is a woman with a plan. I like plans. I live for lists and organisation so I related to her and felt her despair at her plans hitting one of those nasty little “life” speed bumps.
Dan is one hell of a cheeky chappy. One liners, sexual innuendos, hilarious ideals and all around good hearted guy underneath some egotistical bravado. Fluff me, I fell. And hard.
It was easy to see that Ash had no chance of him not derailing her from all she had known of adulthood up until this point.
Part of me felt like I was holding my breath, waiting for the most epic crumble of all time, and another part felt like the only time I could breathe was when I was with him. Make sense? No, of course not.
But it was humbling to see Dan getting knocked on his arse by this remarkable woman that he just couldn’t stay away from. His attempts at making her his girl and bringing new experiences into her life, ones she had forced herself to miss out on because she was strict on herself growing up, growing away from the world she had been born into.
Fuck. Her smile made me feel like Superman and I’d challenge anyone who didn’t think I could outrun a train. Playing for Ash rocked my world.
This book had it all. The ego, the doubt, the push-and-pull between them, the sexual tension a blind man could see. Everything. Oh, and the angst. The angst was there is spades.
All that shit about feeling like your heart was tearing in two was a lie. That didn’t even come close to the pain I was feeling. It felt so much worse. Like having your heart ripped from your chest, tossed on the floor, and forced to watch it helplessly while you slowly die. That’s what it felt like. It felt like dying.
The emotions I felt throughout the story were of the highest highs but of the lowest lows. Dan and Ashlyn’s tale will be a whirlwind, a rollercoaster and you want more. You crave more. I cannot wait for more from the Power Station gang and am eagerly awaiting more quips and one-liners from Dan along the way!
Cupcakes rule!
And I’ll leave you with this.
“It’s not my ego that is getting bigger babe, that’s my cock”
~ Dan, in one line! 😉
5 very deserving stars from me!
About The Author:
T Gephart is an indie author from Melbourne, Australia.
T’s approach to life has been somewhat unconventional. Rather than going to University, she jumped on a plane to Los Angeles, USA in search of adventure. While this first trip left her somewhat underwhelmed and largely depleted of funds it fueled her appetite for travel and life experience.
With a rather eclectic resume, which reads more like the fiction she writes than an actual employment history, T struggled to find her niche in the world.
While on a subsequent trip the United States in 1999, T met and married her husband. Their whirlwind courtship and interesting impromptu convenience store wedding set the tone for their life together, which is anything but ordinary. They have lived in Louisiana, Guam and Australia and have travelled extensively throughout the US. T has two beautiful young children and one four legged child, Woodley the wonder dog.
An avid reader, T became increasingly frustrated by the lack of strong female characters in the books she was reading. She wanted to read about a woman she could identify with, someone strong, independent and confident who didn’t lack femininity. Out of this need, she decided to pen her first book, A Twist of Fate. She enjoyed the process so much that when it was over she couldn’t let it go.
T loves to travel, laugh and surround herself with colourful characters. This inevitably spills into her writing and makes for an interesting journey – she is well and truly enjoying the ride!
Based on her life experiences, T has plenty of material for her books and has a wealth of ideas to keep you all enthralled.
