Title: Out of the Storm
Author: JB McGee
Release Date: January 31, 2017
There’s an eerie calm before the storm,
And my best friend is in the direct path of the hit.
I have to protect him, no matter the cost.
He’s like a brother to me.
I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure he’s safe.
Even if that means being pulled into the vortex that is Jules Hemingway,
A sexy, fiery tempest that has the potential to destroy everything in her wake.
All I want is to dive in, take my chances.
But first, I must complete the mission—save my friend.
Though it may mean losing what really matters,
The only woman worth drowning for.
Something’s amiss—strange and ominous,
And I can’t quite put my finger on it.
When Theo Katawhateverhisnameis comes thundering in,
It’s like lightning to my heart, my body, my soul.
It’s a shock—a jolt, as I realize my life is a scam,
A scheme with no winners.
I’m in over my head, treading in a sea of lies,
Leery of whom to trust,
Only looking to protect myself, my heart.
Together, we’re wreckage, debris,
but are we collateral damage in this perfect storm?

Well, for a first time romantic suspense write, this is a very valiant effort! I did not see *that* coming!!
The story took me a while to get into and there were parts that frustrated me but overall, I was ENTHRALLED with Theo and Jules. Their instant chemistry was off the charts hot!! And I found myself rooting for them during their time apart despite this insta-love.
For me, the key to a good multi/dual POV story is that you don’t find any repetition of scenes in the alternating chapters. This happened and although it is always good to read what the other person is feeling and doing, the characters’s personality has been set already, we can use our imaginations to figure out how they’re responding. As readers, we constantly use our imaginations and this could have happened a few times throughout Out of the Storm and saved us a re-read of what we’d just read!
This point aside, it was a very enjoyable and easy read with me wanting to hear that Greek accent!! Thank you to JB McGee for introducing us to Theo Whatshisname! 😉
Swiping my face with my shirt, it’s hard to ignore the searing gazes of the girls in the gym that roam to the exposed skin of my ripped abs. A small sideways smirk quirks at the corners of my lips as I duck my head down, heat rushing to my cheeks. I work damn hard for this body, and I love when someone appreciates it. I nod at Rockin’ Red, who’s licking her pouty lips like I’m a fine piece of meat she’s hoping to slowly devour. She probably has a better chance with Charlie, unfortunately for her. Of course, there’s a lot more of him to consume. The thought causes me to chortle.
Making my way to the locker room, I swing the door open. “I’m meeting Jules tomorrow night. You can have your guy do it—” They glance in the mirror at me.
I nod. “‘Sup?”
“What’s happenin’?” Their jaws tick. It may have been posed as a question, but it was definitely a statement.
“I heard you overtalkin’ out there. You know I was engaged once. Never again. I say, get as much ass as you can while you can, man.”
Charlie’s eyes narrow at me as he sizes me up, but he’s more than six inches shorter than me. “It’s not nice to eavesdrop.”
“Didn’t mean to. Normally, I have my iPod with me, but I forgot it. And, if it was a secret, maybe you shouldn’t be talking so loudly I could hear you two machines over. But anyway, I’m not here to socialize.” I glance down at my pecs and abs as I pull my shirt over my head. “In case you can’t tell.”
“Right.” He laughs. “And as for my fiancée. If you saw her, you’d understand why I wanted the best of both fucking worlds, man. Have a nice night.” Charlie pats Tattoo Guy on the back. “Let’s get outta here, Angelo.” Ah. Charlie looks back over his shoulder. “Sorry, I didn’t catch your name. I’m Charlie Hawke.”
I didn’t miss that he didn’t extend his hand to me, so I push mine out toward him. “Theo. Theo Kataigída.”
I nod, smiling. “You got it.”
He never takes my hand. They both just give me a look that screams ‘go fuck yourself’ before walking out. Yeah. The feeling is fucking mutual fuckers.
About the Author:
JB McGee is a mother, wife, and the Amazon Top 100 author of the best-selling This Series. Amazon Crossing acquired the German rights to her debut novel, Broken. Heartfall, her coming of age novel about a bullied ballerina, is a #1 best seller in the Teen and Young Adult Performing Arts genre. Skipping Stones, a military romance about a young woman strongly influenced by her faith and her family all the while searching for her true love, is a #1 best seller in Women’s Christian Fiction.
When JB’s not writing, she enjoys reading as well as watching and live-chatting her favorite television shows with her friends. Her favorite shows are Quantico, Blindspot, Grey’s Anatomy, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, Below Deck, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Scandal (mainly because of her love of Scott Foley).
Born and raised in Aiken, South Carolina, she attended Converse College and eventually earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of South Carolina-Aiken in 2006.
In college, she was told by her children’s literature professor she would be the one student from her class to be an author. McGee shook her head and laughed. But in 2012, over six years after that statement was made and after a love of reading had been reignited, she gave writing a shot. JB gladly ate crow when she emailed her first book to the above mentioned children’s literature professor thanking her and acknowledging the accuracy of her prophecy.
In 2011, it was discovered that not only do both of her children, but also she and her husband, have mitochondrial disease. Affecting 1 in 2500 people, it has no cure or treatments. Being a writer allows JB to care for her family’s unique needs while also providing a platform for raising awareness for this disease.
She is a hopeless romantic who loves to escape into fairy tales—some she reads and some she creates.
JB McGee and her family now reside in Buford, Georgia.

What a journey we’ve been on together.
From Kline and Georgia with Stan and Walter.
From Thatch and Cassie with Ace.
From Wes and Winnie with Lex.
Side characters in Dean and Bailey Quinn that I wouldn’t mind revisiting…..
I’m not going to lie, I am so sad that the Billionaire Bad Boys series has come to an end now.
But what a ride it was. Scoring Her was no exception.
In this last accompanying novella, we had 6-way POV from all of the main characters and it was a delight. I loved that they all got one last say, one last slice of that HEA pie.
As always with characters and a series I have devoured, adored and pined for, I want more. I’d love to see their stories continue. If their dreams and aspirations came true, how their lives turn out. If Thatch ever bought the lot of them their dream homes, for example!!
Max and Monroe, you are my favourite “new author” discovery of 2016 and I CANNOT WAIT for what 2017 brings us.

They didn’t know I was at the lowest point a person could reach.

Aloof, handsome, blue-eyed Julius Carter.
He saved me.
I screwed him over.
Now everybody was after me. My life was forfeit.
It was only a matter of time. I was a dead woman walking.
The question was, who would get to me first?

Title: Scoring the Billionaire (Billionaire Bad Boys #3)
Author: Max Monroe
Release Date: October 25, 2016
Max and Monroe, under penalty of fictional perjury, swear that actually changing the rhythm of your heartbeat was not their intention, but rather, a side effect of swoony characters and an overzealous dedication to tears. No, no. The Dedication of the book is actually to tears.
Proceed with caution.

The last of the billionaires.
The last of our sassy, strong heroines.
One awesomely written child character.
I can’t describe my love for this little self-made family. Winnie is a single mother to special-needs child. Lexi is on the autistic spectrum and is super intelligent and very aware of her surroundings. It takes her time to warm up to new people and new people find it difficult to understand her and her quirks.
When Winnie sees Wes respond to Lexi so naturally and actually actively encourage change in her, she can’t believe that Wes isn’t the man he says he is. The one not for relationships and families and children.
What we see is a change in all three characters. Wes opens his heart to more than just one night however hot and erotic it may be. Winnie opens her heart to potentially another deadbeat like Lexi’s father. Finally, Lexi opens her heart to a stranger and trusts him explicitly.
The whole gang is around, naturally and we see a lot of Kline, Georgia, Thatch and Cassie. The group of them altogether makes my heart so full that the thought of this series being so close to ending physically hurts.
You won’t regret one-clicking this and falling even more in love for these billionaire bad boys!

“Leave it,” I whispered as her phone rang from her tiny purse that lay discarded on the floor, groaning and pushing her deeper into the wall before sucking the peak of her nipple into my mouth.
We were in the trenches of my favorite two-person activity, and I had absolutely no desire to add a third—especially knowing whoever was on the other end of her phone wasn’t a model for Victoria’s Secret.
Relax. I’m mostly joking.
I’d been working diligently at the removal of each and every piece of her clothing for the last five or so minutes, but we were so desperate to keep our mouths on one another, the process had been slow going and she’d yet to have the chance to reciprocate.
I couldn’t help it, though, and I didn’t mind that I still wore my clothes. Her skin was like a flavor, one I swore had been specifically designed for me by Baskin Robbins, and her nipples were like the cherries on top. Deep red from my attention and perfectly delicious.
But the bleating of her phone threatened to pop my flawless pleasure bubble.
And I was in no way ready to stop.
Things a good neighbor can do for you:

Throw in a neighbor who wants to corrupt her, and another who just wants to own her, and her entire world is flipped upside down.
Who knew neighbors could be so helpful?
Excerpt & Teasers:
It was no joke.
Liam had been waiting in the lobby for her at nine o’clock, sharp. Liam Edenhoff – “but everyone calls me Eden” – he’d introduced himself again to her before guiding her out to a taxi he’d had waiting.
She felt a little nauseous. She’d chugged down another half bottle of wine, and some crème de menthe, before heading downstairs to meet him. She’d almost talked herself out of going, but she’d made the mistake of telling her roommate Tori about the whole fiasco. Apparently, Katya owed it to women everywhere (and Tori in particular) to explore this opportunity to its fullest. She’d all but been shoved out the apartment, the door slammed and locked in her face.
“Nervous?” Liam Eden-whatever-his-name-was asked her as the cab slowed to a crawl.
“Nope,” Katya’s voice sounded overly loud.
“Liar. Tonight is gonna be an interesting night, angel cake.”
“Stop calling me that.”
“What’s your last name?”
“None of your business.”
“Okay then – when the gang bang starts, I’ll tell them to call you Katya X.”
She couldn’t stop the blush from happening that time. Liam burst out laughing, then soothed the sting by grabbing her hand.
Even when they got out of the cab, he didn’t let go of her. Normally, she would’ve been uncomfortable with a stranger assuming such a familiarity with her, but this time, she was thankful for it. She held onto him tightly as they walked down a crowded street. Then they turned into an alley, and his gang bang joke didn’t seem so funny. He led her to a plain door, above which a simple, small, neon sign spelled out “The Garden”. Outside were several small groups of people, chatting and smoking. Some of them called out greetings to him, all of them using his nickname, but a large and scary looking bouncer addressed him very properly.
“Hey, Mr. Edenhoff, wasn’t expecting you in tonight. Any problems?”
“Nope, just bringing a friend to show her the place, let her see what I do for a living.”
All the blood was quickly rushing from Katya’s limbs, pooling somewhere in her stomach. None of this was a joke. He really did own the place, that much was obvious.
As Liam led her through the door, though, Katya actually felt a surge of confidence. She was still nervous, still more than a little scared, but she was okay with it. Liam seemed like a nice guy, he wasn’t going to take her into some dark room and insert foreign objects into her orifices. She could leave whenever she wanted to, whenever it got too uncomfortable. Everything was fine, and for once, she was doing something exciting. She’d have something interesting to talk about at work the next day.
Married to her job. Strict upon herself. Living the ideals she thinks her mother would most approve of.
Completely separate. Both happen upon Katya Tocci at a time when she decides she needs to shake her life up.
First comes along Liam. Teenage boy stuck in a man’s body. Rich. Handsome. Kind. Fun. Addicted to tacos. He teaches Katya the meaning of letting go.
Then comes along a blast from her past, her old neighbour and former crush, Wulf. He’s mysterious, moody, sullen but demanding of her time and her attentions.
No commitments. She’s free to see both men. But at what cost does this come? This could be a dangerous game if Russian roulette but the stake is Katya’s heart.
Where will the ball drop?
This does end on a cliffhanger and definitely leaves you needing more and feeling bereft that book one ended like that with full of a range of emotions. Anger being a main one!!
Fantastic first book in the series, Stylo. Next one now, PLEASE! ❤️
About the Author:
Crazy woman from a remote location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since … forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball – I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I’m clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.
I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there’s your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair – both a curse and a blessing – and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can’t understand me.
Yeah. I think that about sums me up.
Kline and Georgia Brooks are fresh off their wedding and ready to indulge in the honeymoon of a lifetime.
Luxurious and private, their overwater bungalow in the South Pacific is the perfect backdrop for fun, sun, and enough sexiness to necessitate a dip in the clear water to cool down.
But marriage means more, and Kline and Georgia may have to find a different way to handle the heat.
Nowhere near normal in New York…
Thatcher Kelly loves wild women, and Cassie Phillips is about as wild as they come. Put them together and they are a match made in chaos.
Bound by cat-sitting responsibilities, Cass and Thatch have to find a way to right their mistakes—and wade through the dense cloud of sexual tension that seems to suffocate the room whenever they’re together.
Will they be able to resist?
And more importantly, will Walter be okay?
