Title: Collecting the Pieces
Author: LA Fiore
Release Date: November 15, 2016
At fifteen I fell in love. His name was Jake Stephens and he took the abandoned, lonely girl I had been and made me whole. His love was a pure and unconditional love that made every day better than the last…a fairy tale of my very own.
But this story isn’t about Jake. It’s about Abel Madden; the man I meet after the fairy tale goes to hell. A cocky, arrogant man who says what he wants, does as he pleases, and makes no excuses for it. He irritates me—downright pisses me off at times—but he also brings me back to life.
My name is Sidney Ellis and this is my story of finding love twice—the first when I needed it most and the second when I never saw it coming.

To put this mildly, my emotions were all over the place with this book.
We meet Sidney at birth and follow through her childhood, adolescence and adulthood.
We’re lulled into a safety net whereby Sidney has her happily ever after with Jake Stephens. But of course, the end of the story can’t come at 30%. The fairy tale takes a sudden and gut wrenching turn.
Yes, there were tears. I bawled. I sobbed. I mourned the change.
Until we meet “him”.
Just that name allures to a bad boy. A biker. A take-no-prisoners sort of man.
He’s all of those things.
He wasn’t expecting Sidney. Nor the punch to the gut she gave him (not literal!!)
I loved their banter and to-and-fro. She didn’t take his nonsense and he pushed her to her limits. But he also made her feel again. Even if the emotion was anger and annoyance, someone was getting through the seemingly impenetrable wall Sidney had built around herself for the previous three years since her life changed irrevocably.
This book had it all, TWO love stories, some amazing side characters, some deep issues dealt with and a whole host of animals as only the main character being a vet could bring.
Prepare to fall hard, swoon often, laugh, cry and sigh in happiness.
The ending is one that will stay with me, it made my heart happy and my soul soar and my hope build for the HEA for everyone in this world.
Oh, and watching Abel squaring off with a cat was one of the funniest moments in any book!!
