Synopsis:
The Devil’s Dust MC has a list of new threats to the club’s lifestyle. Dani, to prove her loyalty, is trying to embrace a part of herself that she never knew existed until now. A sinful beast lurking beneath her surface has been awakened and is ready to eliminate anyone that stands in its way. Looking at her stained hands, she rinses the blood from them. She resigns herself to innocence lost and welcomes her thirst for more blood.
After a breathtaking turn of events, Shadow is looking at life in a different perspective. Not knowing who he can trust or who he can forgive has left him feeling desolate and alone. As Shadow is laying behind his rifle, he wonders if he can pull the trigger to eliminate the threat. He takes a deep breath and squeezes the trigger, the rifle recoil ignites the fuel that drives him.
Retaliations will be required.
Boundaries will be shattered.
Redemption will be lost.
Betrayal so deep, yet they still yearn for one another. Can Shadow overlook Dani’s transgressions? Can Dani overlook the mistrust that Shadow has placed upon her?
What Doesn’t Destroy Us ended in such a way that I was pining for more from the Devil’s Dust gang! Ugh; to torment myself further before I started The Scars That Define Us I re-read the last few chapters.
Thank goodness I had book two to delve into!
MN Forgy, you did not disappoint. From the hate-to-love and love-to-hate flowing through the club to the push and pull between Shadow (*SWOON*) and Dani I devoured page after page needing more from them. Needing it all and more from them.
Trust is something neither of them had a lot of going into their relationship and with the developments spanning from the end of book one it was something that took a long time to regain.
Either way, I will make this up to Dani somehow. I should have trusted her. I should have listened to her, but I didn’t. I took the path of mistrust and damaged us both. Now I’ll have to earn her trust once again.
And, damn if I didn’t fall in love with Shadow all over again! He’s mine, ladies! I want the hand on my thigh as we ride and I want the leather cut and I want our song to be The Reason by Hoobastank (one of my favourites!)
The story progressed flawlessly and I felt truly immersed in all things Devil’s Dust from the guys to the Old Ladies down to the Doc and Prospects. Expect drama, intrigue, heartbreak, breathtaking scenes and a whole lot of angst, sex and darkness!
The ending could not be more perfect and the way it ties into the next book in the series – one I could not be more happier about – once again has me counting down until the release like I have been for this book, the conclusion (but, I hope, nowhere near the ending) of Dani and Shadow’s chapter.
“You’re the Devil’s Dust.” … “You have Hell’s fury inside you; it owns you and consumes your thoughts. There is no escaping it. The anger and darkness which is harbored within you will surprise you, making its presence when it sees fit”
5 stars!!

My Review:
I enjoy reading a range of genres and there is nothing like a gritty MC book for me.
What Doesn’t Destroy Us doesn’t disappoint. I was drawn into the characters’ back stories and present lives from the first page.
I want my own Shadow. I am jealous of Dani. Their chemistry is amazing and the sexual tension between them is palpable. I loved every word!
“I catch him staring at me a lot. He stares at me with hungry eyes and the most breathtaking, yet arrogant smile a man can have.”
Shadow professes to not being a romantic man. No hearts or flowers here but my goodness what romance he does show Dani – who, coincidentally is the MC President’s daughter – makes me swoon and my panties melt. Him buying her a leather jacket after her drunken declaration that she’d look good in it. Him showing his possession of her by grabbing her thigh whilst she is on the back of his bike.
Now. The ending. Wow. Was not expecting that! And I am now desperate for book 2! The story line flowed and was an lovely easy read that was one I didn’t want to put down!
Well done and thank you MN Forgy! I look forward to more from the Devil’s Dust boys!!
5 out of 5!

Forgy started writing at a young age but never took it seriously until years later, as a stay-at-home mom, she opened her laptop and started writing again. As a role model for her children, she felt she couldn’t live with the “what if” anymore and finally took a chance on her character’s story. So, with her glass of wine in hand and a stray Barbie sharing her seat, she continues to create and please her fans.
