My Review:
Just as a rose is unable to change its color, it isn’t possible for us to alter the past.
No one has had an upbringing quite like Bleu MacAllister. Her innocence and purity and childhood were ripped away from her in minutes. Her life irrevocably altered. Fast forward to when she’s 25. She’s matured, she’s learnt things most people never get taught in their lifetimes and the darkness that ensued her life as a child has consumed her and been her driving force for 18 years.
She wants revenge. She wants retribution. She needs into the Fellowship. She needs Sinclair “Sin” Breckenridge. And what a sin he is. He’s done things few would even think of doing. He’s corrupt, he’s dark, he’s sex on legs. Pardon the pun (read the book, you’ll know what I mean.)
Bleu knows about Sin and his family – biological and extended. She knows what they’re capable of, what they do, she knows their ins, outs, comings and goings. She has the perfect plan. Use Sin to get her into the brotherhood. Kill the man responsible for ruining her young life. Move on from the tragedy of her past. Simple. Or is it?
Perhaps this description of Sin can help with where Bleu’s plan deviates.
He’s hotter than a freshly fucked fox in a forest fire.
But what happens when she gets the perfect opportunity to exact her revenge? Will she ever be discovered? Will the darkness win or lose? Is she capable of her own happy ever after?
This whole book – the first in a brand new trilogy from Georgia – was a breath of fresh air for me! It was so different to the other range of adult books I’ve been reading recently. Her writing never fails to impress and astound me and I found myself engrossed from start to finish eager to discover the story of Bleu and what the outcome would be to her story.
I was on tenterhooks the whole time she was “with” Sin. I was trying to think of possible scenarios – both good and bad – that could happen in the story and came up blank. Each line, page and chapter held promise for a true love story to emerge but the ending. OH! That ending! Needless to say, February cannot come quick enough for my liking.
Georgia, I thank you for yet another epic debut to a new series. Please never ask me to choose between Sinclair and Jack Henry! ❤

About the Author:

Georgia resides in rural Mississippi with her wonderful husband, Jeff, and their two beautiful daughters. She spent fourteen years as a labor and delivery nurse before she decided to pursue her dream of becoming an author and hasn’t looked back yet.
When she’s not writing, she’s thinking about writing. When she’s being domestic, she’s listening to her iPod and visualizing scenes for her current work in progress. Every story coming from her always has a song to inspire it.

Excerpt:
Sinclair Breckenridge’s POV:
“I’m in the business of boundaries and limits. I’m aware of what mine are and how far I’m willing to go to get my job accomplished. It can include lying and sometimes stealing.” I wait a moment for driving the last nail into the coffin. “And perhaps the occasional killing.”
“How do you feel when you do those things?”
“Powerful.” I purposely choose that word because it’s the one she used to describe how she felt when she brought Duff to his knees. I want her to see just how similar we are.
She watches out the window for a minute before speaking again. “Do you like the way it feels?”
I can’t lie. I get a high from it. “Very much.”
Another minute passes. “Okay.”
What? “Just … okay?”
“Would you like me to be horrified?” she asks. “I can do that if it would make you feel better or improve your opinion of me.”
She’s no fucking Pollyanna. So I guess there’s no reason for her to pretend to be. “No. Okay works for me.”
I’m not sure if I should be disturbed by her lack of appall. It feels like a double standard to be shocked by an absence of dismay.
My God, has the pot met the kettle? “I wish I could get inside your head.”
“No, you don’t,” she says. “My mind is a dark place to be.”
I think I may have met the perfect woman. In her eyes, I’m not a monster at all.
