Summary
One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him.
But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation—and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out—Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume—her sweet, filthy fling—to France for the summer and just…play.
When feelings begin to develop behind the provocative roles they take on, and their temporary masquerade adventures begin to feel real, Mia will have to decide if she belongs in the life she left because it was all wrong, or in the strange new one that seems worlds away
Bio / Social Media
Lauren Billings (but everyone calls her Lo) has a Ph.D. in neuroscience and before she made writing her full-time job, would spend her days doing nerdy research-type things wearing a lab coat and goggles. She is silly Mommy to two littles, wife to one mountain biking homebrewing scientist, bestie to a shoe-stealer, and an unabashed lover of YA and romance.
Christina Hobbs (but you’ll always hear Lo call her PQ) used to spend her days in a junior high counseling office surrounded by teenagers. Married to the cutest boy in school, she has a thirteen year old daughter, is an unapologetic lover of boy bands and glitter, and also likes to steal Lo’s shoes.

My review:
A wild night in Vegas to celebrate graduating college – bound to end up married, right?
Of course you are.
So you get it annulled, right?
Nope!
Ansel and Mia decide to not get divorced as quickly as they got married.
Ansel, who lives in Paris and was just in America for a reunion with friends has a secret but is known by his mother as a “sweet boy”.
Mia, who lives under her strict father’s rule and has to do what he’d like her to do with her life, decides to have a summer of fun in Paris with Ansel before resigning herself to Business School in Boston.
Spur of the moment decisions are all good and well but when the reality of their life changing decisions comes crashing down on them, awkwardness and insecurities in their relationship start to show.
So what happens? Well, Mia – who is a natural born dancer, a performer – knows how different she feels when acting like someone else. And Ansel – remember, he was called a “sweet boy” by his mother? Well we learn he really is a Sweet, Filthy Boy. I’ll say no more but let your imaginations run wild.
All too soon, though, the summer is drawing to a close and Mia needs to make a difficult number of decisions regarding not only her and Ansel but her life in general. Does she make the right decisions? Can Ansel and Mia find that middle ground in which to base their marriage and make it work against all odds? I’ll let you find out for yourself!
I am starting to really enjoy series that have one book about one or two characters as mainies and this book is no exception. Their story ties up neatly with a pretty little bow and we can look forward to hearing/reading more about Finn and Harlow in Dirty Rowdy Thing!
Well done Christina and Lo – another cracker of a book much like the Beautiful Bastard series! Can’t wait to see where you take us next!
My rating: 4 very deserved stars out of 5 ****
