Realizing that the day is getting away from me, I gather my laundry for the week and head around the block to Suds R Us, my local laundromat. Once I have the washing machine on, I sit back in the plastic chairs lining the wall and pull out my phone. Time for my weekly phone call to Mom and the girls.
It rings twice before my sister Danika picks up. “City morgue. You kill ‘em, we chill ‘em.”
She never fails to amaze me. “Danika, that is terrible!” I say, still chuckling to myself.
“Zan! Tell me you’re coming home soon.”
“I wish I was, squirt. I’m too busy with work and the academy. Who would’ve thought you have to study to become a cop?”
“Well duh! Of course you do. How else will you know how to get fat and eat donuts all day?”
“Oh is that what I’ll be doing all day? Well shit, I’m glad you told me now,” I reply sarcastically.
I’m a wife to one husband, mother of two gorgeous girls, self-employed doing communications and business consulting as well as studying accounting full time.
After reading Temporary Bliss I wasn’t sure I really wanted to read True Bliss. I absolutely loved Mac and Daniel and to be honest I felt I wanted more of them. I didn’t care too much about Zander and Kate after I finished Temporary Bliss but I have to say I’m so glad that I did read True Bliss because I loved it. In fact its on par with Temporary Bliss I love them both equally.
Kate is Mac’s best friend and roommate and she’s looking for that happy ever after love, the kind of love we all dream about and hope for.
“I don’t just want good love, one of those everyday loves that you hear about. I want the kind of crazy love we’ve been warned about.”
So Zander and Kate have a ‘moment’ between them four months previous and although in Temporary Bliss you know something happened you never find out until now.
Zander, a gorgeous guy whom currently works as a stripper but decides to change his career path to a police officer. He was a friend with benefits to Mac in Temp Bliss but that is over now and it turns out he really likes Kate. So much so he’ll go about getting to know her any way possible.
“…I find myself wanting to find out more about the enigma who is Kate McGuinness. And I’d also give anything to see her in those heels again preferably naked.”
Swoons, I mean come on Zander is so nice and he’s hot and he clearly has this kinky side that we all know about. I quickly forgot about Daniel Winter reading this book, and although Mac and Daniel are still a part of this story I didn’t care about Daniel anymore, it was all about Zander. What can I say I’m easy in the book boyfriend world!
So as I mentioned Zander decides he wants to get to know Kate a lot more, yet Kate feels rejected by Zander and in typical girl style tries to forget him. However they do get to talking, granted Kate doesn’t realise who Zander is so lets face it that won’t go down well.
Oh the joys of technology!
Then Zander and Kate are forced to spend time together and one thing leads to another and then BAM!! Something comes a long a ruins it, maybe?
This story had me constantly in hope that Kate would ‘grow a pair’ and pursue Zander lets face it we live in the 21st Century and if I wanted something I’d go out and get it. Zander I just wanted him to give me a lap dance.
When reading there were moments I wanted to shout at my kindle and say ‘come on’, but more importantly I just wanted them to be together. I loved the fact this book still very much incorporated Mac and Daniel not too much but enough that it satisfied me like I say I ended up thinking Daniel who? Do Zander and Kate get their happy ever after? That’s something you will need to find out for yourself.
The bonus chapters at the end, I just want to thank BJ Harvey for those because they really made me happy. It was like having a little present as reward for finishing a fantastic book.
So I’m leaving you all with probably my favorite passage from the book which I love, it’s what I always imagined love to be about.
“The kind of love that makes your heart skip a beat.
The kind of love that makes you want to dance in the rain and bottle up the sunset while screaming at the top of your lungs.
The kind of love that authors write about, musicians sing about, and lovers dream about.
I want true, total body mind and soul, bliss.”
I definitely give this book a well deserving
