Natalie’s review of Mirage –
OK, so my other Brits probably know I’m a very hard lady to please when it comes to my books.
While Jo is reading this I can imagine she’s either begging ‘please be nice Nat’ or she’s reading it with one eye shut just in case I have one of my little rants – about how annoying the writing is, or how the story doesn’t flow and how I got bored half way.
IT’S OK JO JO, I ACTUALLY LOVED THIS BOOK!
WOW, GO ASHLEY SUZANNE!
Here goes peeps –
OK, if you want every emotion in you affected – read this now!
So, we have Danny (super hot!); Skylar (super hot!) and both into motorcycles (yeah, super hot!) Then we have Mira and Kylee. Four best friends in college.
This story is about Mira and her boyfriend Danny (who I fell in love with within the first page)
“I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you. We’re going to be so disgustingly happy, our friends are going to hate us”
At about 3% in I didn’t know whether to cry; give up; abuse Ashley or just breathe and continue like a big girl….!
So I continued and, boy, I was taken on one of the biggest emotional rides of my life I didn’t know if I wanted to jump ship or just shut my eyes and hope and pray.
It’s really hard to review this book in detail as I don’t want to give the story or anything away.
I will say this though –
IT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT YOU!
This book is full of surprise and it really isn’t your typical romance book.
I would love to sit here and tell you the whole story because I can’t stress to you how good this book is!!
The story is very believable I found myself rooting for them from about 10% in but then the ending hit me like a freaking massive bus …I had to re-read it three times because I thought ‘no, surely not….’ I sat there thinking ‘what the hell…’
THEN IT JUST ENDS … picture me left alone with a blank kindle screen in a state of shock…!
So I’m very happy to give this book 4 stars (only reason it’s not 5 is because of the way it ended – evil genius though!)
So, Ashley, give me book two, Awakening, now please…. so looking forward to it!

Jo’s review of Mirage –
As it may have been previously mentioned, our Princess Natalie is a picky reader. So whenever she asks for a book to read and review, I am, naturally, nervous! An angry princess is not something I aspire to have on my hands!!
When she was reading and falling in love with the characters, the story and the author I knew we were onto a winner here and I just HAD to read it!
As Natalie says, we have our four characters which are paramount to the story – Danny, Mira, Skylar and Kylee. All close friends who experienced a tragedy on the day of graduation. Sucks to be them. Kylee (Mira’s lifelong friend) and Skylar (who has loved Mira since he met her but lost her to his best friend) are left trying to pick up the shattered pieces to Mira’s soul as life goes on.
Mira realises her feelings for Skylar are not completely friendly and they take the next step but with the wrong words said they go their separate ways only to meet again a year later. Their feelings haven’t changed but they had. Mira had become more mature and aware of her emotions and Skylar seems to have become much hotter (I *may* have a thing for MC bikers….!) Well, as you’d expect one thing leads to another…
And, then, as you wouldn’t expect, that one thing leads to something BIG. As with Natalie, the ending was a complete shock and I thought that was the Mirage of the story…
Please, I implore you to try the book for yourself and try to deny us that the ending doesn’t have you wanting more immediately. Ashley Suzanne, bravo. Thank GOODNESS I don’t have to wait too much longer for the next book – AWAKENING! (PS, Team Skylar!)
My rating – 5 out of 5. Cliffhangers may be a bitch but they make me want more!!

Biography
Mia is currently a stay at home mom who has mastered the fine art of making a PB&J sandwich in between laundry and shuttling kids to ballet and swimming. In her spare time (“What spare time?” She laughs), she enjoys photography, traveling, and having a girls night out with her pals. She enjoys the simple things in life, such as sleeping more than 3 hours per night and 10 minute showers without being interrupted by children yelling “mommy” from the other side of the bathroom door. Mia Michelle resides in Tennessee with her soul mate and husband of 18 years and their 2 beautiful young children. She is currently working on her Masters in Counseling and drafting her new series.
Synopsis
When a drunk driver tragically orphans Skylar Rose at the age of sixteen, she leaves her dreams behind and takes on the daunting task of helping her elderly grandmother raise her young sister. While other girls her age were living a typical carefree life, she was picking up double shifts at a local café and struggling to pay the bills.
Always putting her sister’s needs and school first, Skylar has never had time to date or develop relationships. Now a senior in college, she has her sights set on an amazing internship opportunity. The last thing she needed was for a sexy distraction like Sebastian Thorne to walk into her life.
Sebastian Thorne had been an entitled and reckless nineteen year old when he got behind the wheel of his new sports car that night. When his night of indulgence goes tragically wrong, Sebastian hesitantly turns to the one person, he knows can make everything go away…the one person he hates …his father.
Now twenty-six, Sebastian is the young enigmatic and powerful CEO of his late father’s design company, Thorne Enterprises. With both millions in the bank and a new woman on his arm almost every night, the world never knew the dark secret he carried inside. Still plagued with nightmares from the night of that horrific accident and having to leave the beautiful girl behind, Sebastian vows to find the one that haunts his dreams. Sometimes the choice of revisiting our past opens the door to a future that we never thought possible.
Haunted by their past, these two want nothing more than to have their life given back to them. But what do you do when the person who gave you back your life, was the very one that took it from you in the first place?
* BOOK 2 THORNELESS will follow VERY VERY SOON!! Contains sexual content and abusive situations. Recommended for readers 18+ years
So the beautiful ladies from Feisty Book Blog asked us to join them on the blog for this amazing book….. here is my review!!!! Lots of love K xxx
So this book…………..WHAT CAN I SAY…..this book had me from the first sentence –
“People always have that one day, that one specific moment that they wish they could change or just erase”.
What a sentence to start a book.
I am finding it hard to write this review without spoilers, it’s that good that I just want to talk about it all, so here we go….
So Skylar is having the perfect sweet sixteenth. Mom, dad and little sister all spending time together, that day was perfect but then it turned to hell and life would never be the same. That day was 7 years ago!!!
Sebastian ( O my beautiful sweet broken boy) just has it all, the car, the girls, and the money!!! But does he really have it all??? Is he really that happy??
Then one mistake changes his life forever!!! That mistake was 7 years ago!!!!
Sebastian Throne (what a man, may I add again) he has the life, the women love him and his staff are scared of him. He, literally, rules the world and anyone and everyone knows him as the almighty business man. He lives for his company.
“when the world looks at me, they see Sebastian throne, CEO of Throne Enterprises, a young and wildly wealthy bachelor, who takes the world by storm, and never backs down when he wants something. Never. But, when I look in the mirror, I don’t see that man. No I see a coward, a man who has grown up in a life that he does not deserve.”
Yep, you’ll love him just as much as I do!!!
Skylar is working hour after hour to provide for her sister, after giving up her dreams so that her sister can have hers.
Guilt, remorse and even trying to get forgiveness, takes Sebastian to the same place heartbroken Skylar is… there is just one word for this FATE. They may not speak and one may not know the other is there, but the one who see’s wants the other……Get my drift???
As soon as they meet and talk the connection jumps right at you and you can’t help but scream and shout for them to make it, it may not be right but my god if you have love like this shouldn’t you hold on with both hands? No matter what!!!!!!!
Yeah I know what you’re all thinking………………….HELL YEAH!
But what if that man isn’t the man you thought he was, what if that man is the man who ripped your heart out and never gave it back and then he hung your heart out in front of you again and then stamped on it, could you still love him? What if there is another man trying to sweep you off your feet and you know he is the perfect catch? What would you do??? Can you love another when the man you truly love is right in front of you???
This book had me gripped from the start and I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through and I just didn’t know where it could go, Mia had me laughing, crying, screaming, and she had me up all night reading it. This book became one of my top ten books to read. If a book can give these emotions it can’t be anything other than a 5 star read.
If you said to me, I can only buy one book this year…. THIS WOULD BE THE BOOK I WOULD SAY!!!!
Lots of confusion, lots of missed words and lots of heartache. But my goodness what a love story!!!! A love story that shouldn’t happen but you’ll want it to happen. TEAM SEBASTIAN – what team will you be on??
So I am very honoured to have read book two…. EPIC READ out in 3 weeks!
BOOK ONE IS 5 STARS
BOOK TWO IS 10 STARS!!!!!! My goodness what an amazing lady is Mia.
Francesca’s review-
Rose of Thorne, well what can I say this book totally gripped me just from reading the prologue, I could tell this book would draw me in and leave me gasping for breath when it was done with me.
Meet the handsome Sebastian Thorne a twenty six year old who at the age of nineteen made a terrible mistake and ends up killing the parents of Skylar Rose leaving her orphaned at the sweet age of sixteen.
Sebastian goes on to become the CEO of Thorne Enterprises but he never forgets or forgives himself for that fateful night.
“I have struggled to make peace with what I did that night…”
Skylar goes on to live a tough life working whilst studying at college and supporting her little sister. Her life is heart breaking and all the heartache and pain she goes through had me feeling sick inside. You know that horrible feeling where you just want to make everything better for them, well that was me.
Then they meet, not through coincidence first time round, but when Skylar gets an internship at Thorne Enterprises eventually they really start to fall for one another. Skylar finally feels like she can have a life again, that Sebastian is giving her life again after it was taken from her when her parents died.
“For the first time in a long time, you make me forget the hurt I feel. I didn’t think that was possible. It’s like I can finally breathe again.”
For Sebastian though although he loves her he can’t help but feel that he is undeserving of Skylar because he is the reason she has suffered all these years, after all he took away her parents.
“But, I’m not worthy of that look because, even as deeply as I already feel for her, I don’t deserve her.”
Their relationship is like one step forward; one hundred steps back because Sebastian thinks he shouldn’t be with her. It was quite exhausting, but not in a negative way. You can understand Sebastian’s reservations however you know how Skylar feels and I just wanted to say ‘have sex already’.
I did forgive Sebastian straight away for what he had done that night. I just hoped that Skylar would never find out Sebastian’s dark secret and that they can just be together, because the bottom line is they make each other happy and that’s what life should be about.
Skylar continues to have a rough time, and Sebastian helps her through these times, like a knight in shining armor and a protector.
Lets face it though, nothing lasts forever does it?
So do they get together? Does Skylar find out Sebastian’s secret? Well….
You NEED (sorry about the capitals) to read this book, it will leave you an emotional wreck, hot and horny one minute then blushing like a virgin the next, and finally gasping for air when you get to the end.
I can’t wait for book two, in fact I needed it yesterday…so Mia Michelle give me Thorneless!!! Team Sebastian all the way!!
Here’s a little quote of how Sebastian makes Skylar feel and you can see why they belong together ~
“…because I honestly don’t think my heart can beat without him. There is no doubt that I love him with everything in me. He fills that deep gaping hole inside of my soul and I never conceived that to be possible.” ~ Skylar Rose ❤
I give this book 10 Stars out of 5 because it was so amazing.
Mia Michelle you’ve done more than good – try epically amazing xxx

Sixteen years is a long time to wait for your true love to reappear, and, anyway, Nicki Johnson couldn’t wait for the impossible to happen. Hard life lessons have taught her that fairy tales are children’s stories, and fate is cruel. Burying her hopes, she’s spent the last sixteen years focused and driven toward her career, and it’s landed her with a job at the White House with a gem of a boyfriend. But when her high school love, Adam Kincaid, walks into the White House as a BBC reporter, Nicki’s world is thrown into turmoil as she relives their past. Adam has come back for her, but has he arrived too late?

Even before she graduated from law school, Mary Whitney knew she wasn’t cut out to be a real lawyer. Drawn to politics, she’s spent her career as an organizer, lobbyist, and nonprofit executive. Nothing piques her interest more than a good political scandal or romance, and when she stumbled upon writing, she put the two together. A born Midwesterner, naturalized Texan, and transient resident of Washington, D.C., Mary now lives in Northern California with her two daughters and real lawyer husband.
My Review
So straight after finishing Beside your Heart I picked up Disclosure of the Heart. I could not wait to find out what happens between Nicki and Adam. Last you hear of them its nearly 16 years later and their jobs cause them to cross paths.
This is where Disclosure of the Heart picks up and its smooth.
Nicki has a boyfriend her life has moved on and well Adam is her past, right?
The first time they’re in a room together she knows he’s there, in the room, she purposely avoids eye contact because, well, it’s Adam.
“I avoided looking in the back left where I knew he was sitting.”
However when their eyes do eventually meet for Nicki she’s transported back to all pain and memories from when she was just seventeen and lost her sister.
“
I locked eyes with him, and all the pain I’d known stabbed at me. I was seventeen again, with a scarred body and a shattered life.”
As time goes on the strain to remain professional between the two becomes more and more difficult. After all the truth is Adam has come back for her.
The whole time I found myself wanting to scream at Nicki and tell her, ‘Come on! Adam is hot, he’s the love of your life, forget everything you’ve worked hard for just drop your knickers already.’ I just wanted them reunited and you just knew they wanted each other but life is just not black and white.
When Nicki was with her boyfriend I just wished he’d disappear even though he was a sweet guy, in fact all the obstacles that were in their path blocking a reunion I wanted to sweep away. Lets face it they belong together but reading on you can see how difficult it will be for them to be together without damaging reputations due to their job responsibilities.
Well as time goes on Adam and Nicki start to spend their personal time together in a platonic manner, but it was never going to be easy for Nicki.
“We could be friends, even if I was a little jealous of his girlfriend and wanted to jump his bones. I was an adult. I could get over those things, right?”
So the huge question is do they get aback together or don’t they?
I’m not telling you but there are some real ups and downs. The ending to be honest left me hanging and craving for more. I would like to see more of Nicki and Adam and some of the other characters. This book is a lovely, easy read. Not too heavy that you come away feeling exhausted. It’s a great carry on from where Beside your Heart left off and I would recommend for sure.
4 out of 5 stars

Excerpt:
We arrived at Club N around two and I excused myself straight away to go and find Naomi. I couldn’t see her anywhere in the main club, so I made my way up to the office. Her door was slightly open and she was sitting at her desk; it seemed like she was talking to someone but there was no one to be seen. Thinking she was on the phone I waited for her to finish, but after a few minutes I noticed her cell lying on the corner of her desk. Could I be about to interrupt her on some sort of office booty call? The thought of someone hidden under the desk, pleasuring my friend, made me want to laugh out loud. Oh my God, no; Naomi wasn’t that kind of girl. She was far too shy for that, especially with the door open.
I leaned in closer to try and make out what she was saying and could only just about hear her whispers. “Stop asking me to do that, I wouldn’t do that to her, she’s one of my best friends and I love her to death.” She was almost crying and sounded slightly unhinged as she talked. “Even if I wanted to do it, I couldn’t because he’s always with her. Just stop it, I can’t handle you in my head anymore, get out, get out and leave me alone.”
She sat on the floor and curled her knees up into her arms, then she started rocking back and forth like an upset child. All of a sudden she began hitting herself on the head and between sobs, started chanting, “Get out of my head, get out of my head, I won’t do it, I won’t do it, I won’t.” What the hell is going on? Who is she talking to?
Unable to bear seeing my friend like this any longer I tried to decide the best thing to do. It was starting to freak me out. Had she lost her mind? Was she seeing ghosts? Was she possessed? Every frightening scenario flashed through my mind in those moments and I didn’t know what to do, I didn’t want her to think I was spying on her.
I decided I couldn’t leave her like this, so I pushed the door wide open and walked over to her on the floor. I tapped her on the shoulder and called out to her but she didn’t react. I tried again, louder this time, “Naomi! What the hell is wrong with you girl?”
She turned to look at me, but her face was almost unrecognizable. She was so pale, as if all the blood has rushed from her face, and her pupils were fully dilated. I didn’t want to say it, but she looked scary. Mascara trails created crooked black paths from her eyes, down her cheeks and over her nose, and she was looking straight through me. As if I wasn’t really there. She didn’t look like Naomi at all and it sent chills down my spine.
I knelt down beside her and threw my arms around her shoulders, trying my best to comfort her. “Naomi, please answer me, what’s wrong? Who were you talking to?” She didn’t respond; it was as if she was in some kind of trance and I couldn’t pull her out of it.
Beginning to get desperate for a reaction, any reaction would do right now, I took her arms in my hands and shook her violently. That only seemed to agitate her though, and she screamed in my ears, “I won’t do it, I won’t!”
Not knowing what else to try, I text the girls and told them I needed help. I thought it was best not to let the guys in on this though, so I mentioned to leave them downstairs. It had crossed my mind that Naomi had taken some sort of drug to make her so out of character and I didn’t want her to get arrested. Even if she hadn’t, it wasn’t very nice for them to see her like this. The girls didn’t listen though, and when they arrived Nathaniel walked in behind them, both Joshua and Anthony were in tow.
“Wow, I sensed that something was really bad up here and I wasn’t wrong, was I?”
The first thing they did was switch on the lights; I had already grown so accustomed to the dark in my haste to get through to Naomi that I didn’t even notice the lights were still off. “What’s wrong with your friend, Leona? Why is she crying there on the floor? Did you argue with her as well?” Wow, Nate didn’t just say that did he? I swear I’d never felt the urge to slap someone in my life, as much as I wanted to slap him right then. Not even Vivian.
Right now wasn’t the time to get into an argument though, so I ignored him. Besides, I knew that he was only trying to provoke me in an attempt to get me to speak to him again. Realizing that he wasn’t going to get a rise from me, he took control of the situation; telling the girls to clear Naomi’s desk and getting Joshua to help him put her on it.
As he picked her up, she draped her arms around him, and for a split second it seemed like she was nuzzling his neck. She breathed heavily, her chest heaving as she took in his scent. I thought I was imagining it until she held on to the back of his head and grinned at me. What the hell was she playing at? I wanted to say something, but she let loose my gaze in the blink of an eye. It all happened so quickly that I began to second guess myself as to whether it had actually happened. Could my mind be playing tricks on me? It’s feasible that I had too many glasses of wine at the party.
“Anthony, go and ask the door staff if they have any of those smelling salts they use on people when they faint.” Nathaniel’s words snapped me out of my thoughts.
“You’re not really going to use them on her are you? If she’s not resistant nothing good will come of it.” Anthony was apprehensive and when Joshua tried to assure him that Nate knew what he was doing, he snapped back at his friend and stormed out of the room, muttering under his breath.
Alexandra tried talking to Naomi but she couldn’t get through to her either. She looked right through her with vacant eyes and caressed Alyssa’s face, murmuring over and over that she was a “pretty lady.” They asked if I thought she was on something and I had to let them know that I wasn’t sure. “She didn’t recognize me either, I don’t know what’s wrong. I didn’t think she’d taken anything at first, but this is all starting to look like a trip, a trip that’s gone really wrong.”
Nathaniel and Joshua were standing in the corner, clearly talking about something that we weren’t supposed to hear. I just prayed that they weren’t about to take her down town for a drug test. The whole time they were whispering, Nate never took his eyes off me. I hated it when he looked at me like that, he could always draw me in with his stunningly chocolate eyes, and even though I needed to stay focused for Naomi, somehow I just couldn’t help but to stare right back at him.
A few minutes later, Anthony finally returned with a small capsule which Nathaniel took and placed under Naomi’s nose. It was amazing, within seconds she began to breath quickly and slowly but surely came back to her normal self. When she snapped out of whatever she was on, she was shocked to find all of us in her office. “What happened?” She asked me, confused. She couldn’t remember anything from the last couple of hours.
I talked her through what had gone on, from when I found her sitting at her desk until now; she had no recollection of doing any of those things. I believed her because she couldn’t fake an embarrassment like that even if she tried. She looked exhausted and said that all she wanted to do was sleep.
Alyssa suggested we take her to the hospital for a checkup and we all agreed that it was the safest decision. We still didn’t know what had happened to her, so if she had been on drugs, the results would tell.
